Steph McCaw is the Artistic Director of the 10-piece chamber ensemble The Boxties, and a music education pioneer whose work has been widely recognized by musicians and educators in Australia and overseas.
Cambridge University research into Steph’s teaching methodology has been published in major international journals.
In 2008, she was awarded a Churchill Fellowship, visiting community music programs in the UK, Finland and the USA. In 2013 she was designated a Queensland “Culture Champion”.
With the Boxties, she applies her methods to community choral projects, and a mentorship program for young musicians.
